Millennials Rising: The Next Great Generation Neil Howe & William Strauss
Howe and Strauss are renowned as two of the pioneer researchers in the whole area of generational studies. Their research over many years has involved not only contemporary sources and surveys, it has also called extensively on the record of history. While their perspectives are based for the most part on American research, the conclusions drawn and lessons to be learned are in many cases universal. In this particular book, one of their most recent, the authors take a close look at the emerging Millennial generation, the first members of which are now coming into adulthood. It's only after a generation has reached a certain age that researchers are able to predict how that generation may turn out in the long term. Using their extensive research and experience, Howe and Strauss draw some interesting conclusions about the likely future direction of the Millennial Gen. Along the way they compare them to the GenXers and the Boomers who went before. This is a must-read for anyone who is serious about understanding the times in which we live, communicating effectively with a changing world, and leaving a lasting legacy for the future. Enjoy!
