AOG UK Churches Looking Forward

Added 20 March 2013 View full list    Print version
The Assemblies of God (AOG) network of churches in the UK has a fine heritage of growth and community engagement.

However, the current leadership of the network, under Pastor John Partington, recognise the need for a vibrant new engagement with rapidly changing community needs and likely future challenges.

The network invited social futurist Mal Fletcher, director of Next Wave International and chairman of 2020Plus, to speak to its Central Region Leadership Conference recently.

Mal addressed the subject of 'The Social Tsunami: How Churches can Engage the Emerging Wave of Social Change.'

The response to the lectures has been outstanding, particularly via social networking streams.

Mal reported that delegates were engaged in a 'lean forward' way throughout - and the Q & A time at the end revealed a willingness to tackle difficult issues.

I think yours was the best and most succinct critique I've yet read on 'The Da Vinci Code'. As you say, we can still use it as a platform for presenting the real gospel.

I have just been put on to your website and just read your article about the London bombings. Thank you. I am going to be passing the site on to friends who I know want to hear a good, well written report.
