Munich Church Turns Corner
Times of great challenge and change are helping European churches to sharpen their focus and move forward with new found vigour.
That has certainly been the experience of Gospel Life Center in Munich, Germany.
During 2012 the church experienced a major challenge from within. For a while, things were tough for the church.
However, through a commitment to prayer and transparency it has emerged the stronger for the experience.
Mal Fletcher recently visited the church to speak at a Sunday service. He was the first guest speaker since the problems of last year.
After the visit, he said, 'I've always felt something special for this church. Not only because John and Mirjana Angelina, the senior leaders, are good friends, but because this church has pioneered a number of important aspects of what is now called "contemporary church" in Germany - for more than 30 years.'
'I felt that this most recent visit was at a very important time and I was deeply impressed by the sense of new life and fresh expectancy I discovered among the people. Even the size of the congregation, which had been slightly reduced in the problem period, was very healthy indeed.'
'This church has turned a new page and will, with wise leadership come into a new level of community influence.'

I'm impressed by the content/style of EDGES. The program is topical and very realistic about the issues we face.
Malti
Hey Mal, I'm in Melbourne & grabbed your book Making God Famous. I was inspired as you told the story of leaving Youth Alive & going to Europe. People who maintain their passion are an encouragement to us all.
