Are National Apologies Healthy?

Added 03 March 2010 View full list    Print version
Some national political leaders have taken to making apologies on behalf of historical wrongs done.

British Prime Minster Gordon Brown recently apologised to British children who were forceably taken from their parents and sent to Australia. Meanwhile, Australian PM Kevin Rudd apologised last year for his nation's treatment of the Aboriginal people.

Is all this apologising a healthy development?

During a recent visit to Manchester, UK, Mal Fletcher was interviewed on the subject by BBC Radio's Mike Shaft.

Man this site rocks! I get fired up on this site every week and challenged by the daily recharges, but the best thing is to see how you guys are finding ways to communicate Jesus to today's people in a way they can get it. I've got plenty of ideas from you for my service here in Japan. Keep it up!
