Kings Church Wales Moving Forward
Kings Church, in Newport Wales has been sharing the Christian message in word and social action for years.
Mal Fletcher reports that the church, which has seen its challenges, is moving forward into a new season of growth.
Mal spoke to the church in November and found a congregation hungry to influence its community and determined to stay focussed on the task at hand – reaching people with a message of faith and hope.
Pastor Ray and Laila Bevan and their leadership team oversee a work which encompasses a range of social action and evangelism strategies, including feeding and clothing the homeless and sharing Christian values in local schools.
The leadership school attached to the church, in just its second year of operations, has more than 70 part-time students.
After his visit, Mal said: ‘The thing I appreciate about Kings, is that people have been faithful to the work God called them to do.’
‘If God is going to honour people for commitment to the task, he is certainly going to honour this group of people. They’ve sown into their community, with real passion and zeal for years and I believe they haven’t yet seen their best days.’
‘It’s great to see that their spirit of faith is strong and that they’re ready for greater influence.’

I was only able to attend one of your meetings in Spain, but I really needed to hear what Mal Fletcher had to say. His message was brilliant. Thank you so much for coming!
Jean, Spain
Next Wave is certainly making a huge difference, bringing out the truth about a Christian worldview, equiping the church & helping give believers the insight to stand against a tide of postmodernism.
