Funeral for a Faith Man

Added 19 November 2004 View full list    Print version
During his recent visit to Australia, Mal Fletcher attended the funeral of Pastor Frank Houston, father of Brian Houston and a real faith pioneer. The event was attended by pastors and leaders from around the world, some of whom had flown in just for the day of the funeral. 'Frank was held in high esteem by so many leaders,' says Mal, 'because he had a passion to lift the name of Christ and see breakthroughs in people's lives. He took an interest in people and was responsible for the release or encouragement of thousands of leaders in scores of nations. I have never forgotten many of the things he taught and modelled about faith. Frank was not perfect, nor was he a saint, but he was a man for whom the church was only ever about two things: God and people. We loved him for that.'

I think you asked the wrong question re climate change summit. The question is should it have been held? There are a lot more important issues they should have been discussing, e.g. people trafficking.

I watched Mal's inspiring EDGES presentation on bioethics. Scientists who do genuine research are a boon to humanity. Physicians do everything they can, fighting to save a life. This is based on the image of the Creator in every human being.
