Christian Broadcasters Conference - Media on the Move
At the end of September, Mal Fletcher was a featured speaker at the Christian Broadcasters Conference in Stoke-On-Trent in the UK.
This annual event brings together TV and radio broadcasters and owners from across the UK, for a time of ministry and vision formation.
The conference agenda, which was facilitated by Chris Cole of Cross Rhythms media, featured speakers from various parts of the Christian media and church.
Mal's thought-provoking message on 'Engaging the Future of Europe through Media' carried a strong prophetic weight and was enthusiastically received.
'Many Christian media specialists and artists have more passion for their medium or craft than they do for their Lord,' Mal said. 'They fall in love with the medium; they allow the medium to shape them into its mould. They end up taking their sense of identity, meaning and worth from the medium that should be serving them.
'When they're not seeing their face on TV, or hearing their voice on radio, or reading their name in print, they feel a sense of worthlessness. When that happens to us, we've become converted to the medium, instead of transforming it through our passion for something greater - the Kingdom of God.'
'As Christians involved with media, we have the opportunity to present a world driven by secular thinking with a radically different Christian worldview that has Christ at its centre. When we do this, the local church is able to present how-to's and they actually make sense.'
You can hear the full high-impact message from Mal at our Resources page.
After the conference, Mal said: 'I just want to comment Chris Cole and all the team that put the conference together. They have a big challenge: to re-shape the way Christianity is presented in the British media. Pray for them!'

I thoroughly loved reading The Joseph Chronicles, and found it to be very encouraging. Mal, you're more than an inspiration - you're a catalyst for change.

I love your "innocence vs ignorance" idea (Daily Recharge). We all can return to that place of innocence even if others have previously stolen it or we have lost it. Thanks for all your encouragement every morning.

Hi there. I watched your EDGES programme today about fear. It was very interesting and was, I thought, presented in a very intelligent way.
