The Televangelist animation was first developed for Next Wave International's Strategic Leadership Consultation, an annual meeting of European church network leaders. It has since been screened at Communication and Media MasterClass events across Europe and Australia -- and it always gets a laugh. It's obviously 'tongue-in-cheek' and a bit of fun, but it also demonstrates the way many people in society see Christians on TV. Through projects like EDGES, we are working to change that perception.

Modern media offer us some exciting possibilities: they help us to build the narrative of Christian faith into people's consciousness and worldview. If we're going to speak where people listen and engage their interest in the Christian message, we need to start by debunking certain myths associated with media.
